2025 Prep Enrolments
The Department of Education (DE) has introduced a comprehensive Prep enrolment timeline, now applicable statewide, providing clear guidance for families on enrolling their child into Prep at Victorian government primary schools, including
Mossgiel Park Primary School.
Effective for children commencing Prep in 2025, this new timeline ensures consistency across all government primary schools, with implementation beginning in 2024 to facilitate Prep enrolments for the 2025 school year.

Mark your calendars! Enrollment applications for Prep 2024 at Mossgiel Park Primary School open on 15th April 2024, offering families an opportunity to secure their child’s place for the upcoming school year.
What you need to do:
- Complete the Expression of Interest form below
- Read the QRG Digital Enrolment Parent and Carer Guide (see Enrollment Documents below).
- Download the Prep enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Prep
- Submit an enrolment application for Prep by Friday 26 July 2024
- Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024
- Your child will start Prep from Tuesday 29 January 2025
Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Eligibility for Prep 2025
To start primary school your child will need to turn five years old by 30 April, 2025.Your child must be at school in the year that they turn six years of age. This is the compulsory school starting age in Victoria.
